A New Approach for Seepage Parameters Inversion Analysis Using Improved Whale Optimization Algorithm and Support Vector Regression

Seepage is the primary cause of dam failures. Conducting regular seepage analysis for dams can effectively prevent accidents from occurring. Accurate and rapid determination parameters a prerequisite calculation in hydraulic engineering. The Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) was combined with Support Vector Regression (SVR) to invert conductivity. good point set initialization method, cosine-based nonlinear convergence factor, Levy flight strategy, Quasi-oppositional learning strategy were employed improve WOA. effectiveness practicality Improved (IWOA) evaluated via numerical experiments. As case study, Dono Dam located on Baishui River China inversed, adopting proposed inversion model. calculated field reasonable, relative error between simulated head measured value at each monitoring within 2%. This new method more feasible accurate than existing conductivity estimation methods.
